Comparing, goals, views and sharing
Compare a period with last year, count a thank-you page as reaching out, keep the filters you use most, and show your numbers to someone without giving them a sign-in.
Comparing
Every figure's change is against the period before it, of the same length, unless you pick another under Compare with, at the bottom of the period menu. The period button says what you're comparing with, and the chart draws it as a dashed line under the period's.
- Same period last year is the same days 52 weeks back, so a Monday meets a Monday. Under a filter it isn't there: filtered figures are read from visits kept 90 days.
- A period I pick is as many days as the period on screen, from the first day you pick.
- Off shows the figures without a change.
For Today against last year, a year back has no hours kept, so that whole day's count shows beside today's so far, without an up or down. How it's counted.
Goals
A goal counts the visitors who reached a page: a thank-you page after a form, a booking confirmation. Add one under Settings → Site → Goals by its address, like /thank-you; a * stands for anything, so /thanks/* counts every page under /thanks. Each goal is a row in Reached out, marked “page visit”, and its row filters the page to the visitors who reached it. Choose whether it counts as reaching out, or stays a row of its own.
A new goal finds its visits in the last 90 days, the visits Nodium keeps. Older days stay without it. Renaming a goal keeps its counts. How it's counted.
Saved views
With filters on, open Filter and save them under a name. A saved view keeps the filters and the comparison, not the period, so “Phones from Google” works on this week and on this year. Each site keeps up to 20; the × beside one deletes it.
Share links
Settings → Site → Share makes a link anyone can open to see the site's overview: the figures, the chart, the lists and their pop-ups, any period, comparison and filter. It changes nothing, and shows counts, never a visitor. It has no password, so the link is the secret: revoke it there when it's no longer needed, and from then on it doesn't open. A shared page is never indexed by search engines and sends no address on to the sites it links to.
The live demo is a shared page of a made-up site, Northwoods Decks, with visits arriving as you watch.
Keyboard shortcuts
- D Today, W 7 days, M 30 days, Y 12 months, C a range you pick.
- X turns the comparison off, and back on.
- ← and → move a period back and forward. On the chart they read its points instead.
Each shows beside its option in the period menu. They never act while you type in a field or a menu is open. Turn them off under Settings → Account.
